Custom Website Designers
Most businesses do fine with one of the Content Management Systems (CMS) available; Joomla, Drupal, DotNetNuke, etc. They all deliver basics like forums and newsletters and deliver more functionality through add-ons and plugins. Perhaps you've already looked over the options and still haven't found something to fit your needs or plans. Perhaps they are close but you don't know quite how to adjust them. It is time to consider a custom designed system. There are two ways to proceed.
Rapid Prototyping
This method quickly delivers a basic functioning system that is then built up through successive rounds of revision. This is the ideal design method to use when the concept for your application is not yet crystallized or you need ongoing feedback from your users. You can also spread the cost of the design out over a longer time span.
Requirements-Based Design
This method is best if you have a definite set of requirements your application must meet (as when responding to a request for proposal) or need to know the total cost and completion time up front. We will submit a proposal specifying how the requirements will be met as well as cost estimates and completion time. We
may even suggest features you didn't think of that will reduce cost or add extra capability.
Case Study - Grade School Vocabulary Learning
Tampa Reads, Inc. had developed a special vocabulary program that had great success in the classroom and they wanted to move it to the web to reach more schools. The system stores vocabulary words for each grade level and the list of words can be updated at any time. These word databases are then fed into the proprietary learning system that we designed according to Tampa Read's requirements. The system automatically promotes students when they have reached a pre-set competency level. Teachers can monitor student progress by accessing a record of training sessions or tests. This system is now used nation-wide by many school systems. It was developed with a MySQL database using PHP programming.
